Every year, the biotech company Genzyme puts on a rare disease art gallery called "Expression of Hope." This is for individuals who suffer with lysosomal storage disorders to express their lives through many different types of art; painting, photography, etc.
Genzyme was one of the very few firms willing to research extremely rare diseases in the late 90s and early 2000's, and was instrumental in finding enzyme replacement therapy for MPS.
In September 2014 I submitted my "Made of Hope" tribute to MPS for this year's exhibition, but did not take the number one spot, but was fortunate enough to be featured in their top 180 Expression of Hope III 2015 online art gallery.
Head on over to see what I wrote about this piece, as well as take a look at other great artwork by very talented individuals with rare diseases.
